Back from West Coast, Off to Sewanee Writers Conference

What an incredible west coast trip! During the first half of July we snuck in a family reunion and a seven city book tour (Chester, Susanville, Portland, Spokane, Seattle, Sebastopol, and San Francisco) that included catching up with old friends and meeting tons of new friends. I read in some of my dream bookstores and spoke with smart and caring readers about everything under the sun. Everything went so well, but by the end, I admit, I was looking forward to getting back to Tallahassee. We’ve been back a few days and the July humidity reminds me why I so cherished the 70 degree days in the Bay Area! This Tuesday I head up to the Sewanee Writers Conference in Tennessee. Many of my literary heroes will be present, as well as many other talented poets and writers. It’s been a wish of mine for some time to attend the conference, and I was overjoyed when they accepted me as a fellow this year. If you are near Sewanee, Tennessee over the next two weeks, be sure to check out the great schedule of readings and lectures open to the public HERE.
